Volunteer and Make a Difference

LifeAct’s volunteers are the main reason why our two lifesaving events – the Into the Light Walk and Links for Life Golf Outing are so successful each and every year.  By dedicating time and talents to LifeAct, our volunteers will not only help to reduce the stigma about mental illness, they are saving lives.  Every penny raised goes toward educating the teens of Northeast Ohio to recognize depression and prevent suicide. Please complete a brief volunteer application form to help us identify the best use of your time and talents. • Distributing literature to publicize our events
  • Serving on committees for our events
  • Securing donations for our Links for Life Tournament Auction
  • Volunteering at our fundraising events
  • Helping in our office on special projects

“ For so many years I thought suicide was a selfish act.  I lost a friend to suicide in 2009 and was absolutely devastated.  I couldn’t understand why someone would take her own life.

As a result of this tragedy, I have volunteered at the Into the Light Walk and have found it to be a very rewarding experience.  LifeAct has helped me to understand depression and how important it is to be able to recognize the warning signs.

Now I know that depression is a brain disorder that needs medical attention.  As a volunteer for LifeAct, I get so much more than I can give back to the organization.”
