Everybody has bad days. But if it ever gets so bad that you feel like you can’t keep going, you may need to get some help. Asking for help is not a sign of weakness, it is a sign of strength. It is the first step in empowering yourself to make things better- and by visiting this site, you have just taken that first step! Please don’t just read this and move on. Let them know that you are not ok, and that you see in yourself at least several of the following symptoms that have lasted for at least two weeks.
Depression is not just a mood swing, and it’s not something that you can just “get over.” It’s a medical illness of the brain, when our body’s chemical balance is just shy of perfect. Just as you would reach out to a doctor if you have a broken leg, you need to reach out to a professional if you have a broken heart. Depression can be treated.
